The Rotaract Club of Colombo is Sri Lanka’s first Rotaract club. We bring together students and young professionals to serve communities, build leadership skills and connect with peers around the world.
About the club
Sri Lanka’s first Rotaract club, and the third in South Asia.
Chartered on 9 September 1969 by eleven young people, the club has served Colombo and communities across the island for 57 years under the guidance of our sponsor, the Rotary Club of Colombo.
Our mission is unchanged since the beginning:

Charity Bus 2026
Our flagship two-day journey along the southern coast, delivering eight projects for wildlife rehabilitation, elders’ and children’s homes, schools and the environment.

A sustained response to the island-wide floods: dry rations, essential supplies and clean-up support, including a relief mission to a flood-affected town near Kandy.

Meals for Colombo Municipal Council workers, followed by a dry-rations drive for families in need.

Charity Bus: eight projects in two days.
Each year, members travel together beyond Colombo to deliver a series of projects in a single journey. On 31 January and 1 February 2026, the Charity Bus made eight stops along the southern coast.

Opening General Meeting
The 2026-27 year began with our first General Meeting and the MA Club Run with members and friends.
- August 2026
Coast for Cause
A coordinated clean-up of Crow Island and Wellawatte beaches with 14 Rotaract and Interact clubs.

Third General Meeting
Hosted at ZillionE, welcoming two prospective members, followed by a fellowship evening.
- 3 October 2026
57th Installation Ceremony
The 2026-27 Board was installed at the Hilton Colombo and new members were inducted.

How to join.

Express your interest
Complete a short online form so our Membership Development team can get in touch.

Attend as a prospective member
Join a General Meeting, a community service project and a club service event to get to know the club.

Become a member
Once you have completed these, your membership is confirmed and you are formally inducted.
The form takes about two minutes. We will contact you about the next meeting.
Frequently asked questions
Who can join?
Rotaract is open to young adults aged 18 and above, both students and working professionals. No prior volunteering experience is needed.
How often does the club meet?
We hold at least one General Meeting and one Board Meeting each month, alongside projects and fellowship events throughout the year.
Is there a membership fee?
Members pay an annual subscription that covers club and Rotary International dues. Our Membership Development team will share the details when you visit. There is no cost to attend as a prospective member.
What is Rotaract?
Rotaract is a Rotary International programme for young adults who serve their communities, develop leadership skills and build friendships worldwide. We are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Colombo and belong to Rotary International District 3220 (Sri Lanka and Maldives).
